Caper bush is a beautiful flowering plant with white petals and purple-violet stamens. The "fruit," is what we commonly referred to as capers, which are considered a delicacy in the culinary world. Capers are cool and all, but those flowers!!! Plus, they are heavenly fragrant!


A trailing plant that will grow into a bush, 2-3 feet tall and 3-6 feet wide.


While caper bush likes warm weather to grow, the do need a cool period which can be easily achieved by soaking the seeds in warm water, folding into a moist paper towel and then a sealed plastic bag and placed in your refrigerator for 6-8 weeks. Then plant when temperatures are between 70-85 degrees.


Germination typically takes 3-4 weeks but some stragglers can take up to 3 months. Worth it!! :) Plus, plants are hard to find and very expensive.


Capers like well draining soil and are drought tolerant
