This was a must have for me!

Spanish Flag is in the morning glory family but is a perennial similar to the perennial Morning glory (yes it exists!). The leaves look identical but the flowers are completely different.

This is only a perennial in zones 9-11, HOWEVER, it can be grown as an annual in any climate and can grow up to 18 FEET IN ONLY 2 MONTHS! So no long waiting for the plant to establish only for it to perish in frost just as it was getting going.

The plant offers shades of white, yellow, orange and red all at one time on elongated stalks. It’s a vigorous climber and looks incredible planted in a fence, arbor, trellis or pergola.

It is recommended to plant Spanish Flag, also knows as Exotic Love Vine in spring or summer, in cooler climates, as they require warm temperatures to germinate. Seeds can be started indoors, 6-8 weeks before your last expected frost, using a simple heat mat for plants. The plant will offer you plenty of seeds for planting the following season.

In zones 9+, this can be planted most any time of year as long as temperatures are 70 degrees+. It will live year round and charm you with it’s gorgeous blooms.
