This was a Edison Home Garden Center find. I was so enamored with this plant. The foliage is jet black with touches of purple and the peppers are slightly elongated and also black. New tiny leaves in the center start out green and mature to a super dark black. Be sure to keep the plant in full sun for the darkest leaves.


Another gothic garden must have! These are prized for their looks, but the peppers are also edible and spicy. 5,000-30,000 Scoville units.


Most people don’t know that the trick to healthy peppers that you see in the store is calcium! Peppers require calcium to reach their maximum potential and to help them combat pests naturally.


Use your spent eggshells, bone meal or lime to add calcium to the soil in addition to vegetable fertilizer. I use organic chicken manure based fertilizer.


Do not plant peppers where you just previously planted tomatoes, eggplant or potatoes as this can make them more susceptible to disease.


This is for 10 Non GMO seeds.


Zones 4-8: Plant when all danger of frost has passed when daytime temps reach 70 degrees or start indoors with good strong lighting and transfer outdoors when temps have reached 70 degrees.


Zones 9+: Plant any time of year.
