Native to the Southwest, the Rainbow Hedgehog is the prettiest of all hedgehog cactus with its magenta and pink spines. The plant develops very pretty bands of striping as it grows.

Perennial zones 6-10

The seeds are easy to grow by sprinkling them over lightly moist soil and just barely covering and placing in a sunny and warm location. The seeds will sprout within 2 weeks

Grows 6-8 inches tall and 3-4 inches wide. The cacti flowers in early to mid summer with beautiful magenta blooms with yellow centers.
