Eucalyptus Polyanthemos
 
These are the Eucalyptus branches that you see in specialty florist shops, often referred to as "seeded eucalyptus." This is the variety that is used for wrapping smudge bundles and the aroma is intoxicatingly wonderful. I personally wrap these around white sage (see last photo). It's nice to be able to pick a branch off your tree and wrap up an amazing smelling bundle. These also make for excellent greenery in floral arrangements and can also be cut and used in showers for their sinus clearing medicinal benefit. The leaves have a very high concentration of oils that emit a wonderful aroma when simply pinched.

The leaves are sometimes rounded and sometimes rounded with a point (see photos)

Please note that these get quite large (up to 60 feet in its native habitat) and are only suited for zones 8 and up. These can be brought indoors in cooler zones in winter, but be prepared for some serious trimming and a decent sized pot. These grow fast and make for a beautiful large indoor plant, but be sure to put them in the brightest window possible (southern facing.) Ideally, these should be grown outdoors in warmer zones unless you are experienced or willing to learn about bonsai techniques.

Germination temperatures between 68-78 degrees. Warmer is ok but they will not germinate below 68 degrees. A heat mat is HIGHLY recommended. Now would be a good time to order one so you will have it in time for when the seeds arrive.
