In the Alps, they can be seen growing in fields of shimmering blue. These are just as beautiful dried as they are fresh. There are a few different varieties of Sea Holly, this is the one(Alpinum) that is sometimes referred to as "blue glitter,' as it has a metallic like sheen to it. Even the stems are a beautiful purple-blue!

These require 4 weeks of refrigeration or sowing in fall. The seeds I provide are already dry-cold stratified and ready to plant, however, I have had some customers report no germination after 30 days and I have instructed them to refrigerate the pots for 30 days and place back out and this has provided for successful germination, so this is something to be aware of. Temperatures should be around 70 degrees when placing out, the seeds will not germinate in temperatures much warmer than this.
