So cute!!! These are called Crystal "Apple" for a couple of reasons. 1, they look similar to a granny smith and have a rounded shape. 2, they are crisp with a touch of sweet. The round cucumbers are light greenish-white and are about the size of a small apple at 3 inches.

These originated in either China or Australia and were introduced by an Australian in 1930. They became nearly extinct and efforts are being made to make them a staple in home gardens. They can be a bit hard to find and sell out quickly for this reason.

The vines can be allowed to grow along the ground or they can also be grown on trellises to save space.

Ideal temperatures are between 60 and 85 degrees. Seeds can be started 6-8 weeks before your last expected frost or direct sow anytime during ideal temperatures.

Harvest in 70 days. Continue to harvest for more production. If some are left on the vine too long, you can use those for seeds for future plantings.
