Sicilian Brassica Oleracea

20 seeds, Non-GMO, Heirloom

You guessed it, a cauliflower with anthocyanins, the same antioxidants found in blueberries, red cabbage and red wine. It is considered a super food.

This is a Sicilian variety and the color is naturally occurring, it is not modified and not even a hybrid. 100% nature made.

Most purple cauliflower cooks to a gray color, this actually turns bright green! Kind of a two for one vegetable, can be eaten raw as purple and green when cooked.

Ideal temps are between 50 and 75 degrees. Plant in spring and summer in cooler climates and fall and winter for very warm climates (zone 9+). Ready in o let 60-85 days.

Heads weigh 2-3 lbs. Needs full sun, sprouts as early as 7-10 days.

This is for 20 heirloom, Non-GMO seeds.

I combine shipping on all seed orders, you pay one flat fee for as many seeds as you would like for no additional shipping. Orders over $35 for any combination of items in my shop ship for free!

All of my seeds are tested and guaranteed. Most of my seeds are fresh off of my own plants. See below for full planting instructions. See the last photo for a printable version that you can print by simply holding down CTRL and the pressing P.

PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS:

Plant when temperatures are between 50-75 degrees. Planting time will depend on your climate. Prepare a bed or area in your garden by clearing an area of weeds. Dig down a few inches into the soil to loosen it and replace the soil with some good garden soil. I like to wet the soil first to get it good and wet deep down in the bed. Sow the seeds ¼ inch deep. Space seeds 18-24 inches apart and in rows that are 2-3 feet apart. Water daily. These are thirsty plants. Continue to water regularly after they sprout as well. These are also heavy feeders. Fertilize with a vegetable fertilizer monthly. I like to use organic chicken manure fertilizer for organic gardening. Seeds will sprout in 7-10 days and will be ready to harvest in only 2-2/12 months, making them a great late season planting. The heads are 2-3 lbs!

A NOTE ON SEED STORAGE:

If your temperatures are not quite right for planting, you can keep the seeds viable by keeping them in the plastic bag that I send them in (which is thick and food grade for specifically this purpose,) place that in a paper bag to block light and put it in your refrigerator until you are ready to plant. This can be done with most all seeds and will keep them viable for 1-5 years depending on the species. If you have a basement, you can store them there as well. A sealed mason jar in a paper bag is also ideal. They key is cool, dark and dry.
