Celosia Spicata also referred to as Flamingo feather, spicata, wheat celosia or cockscomb, produces vibrant spikes of varying shades of pink-lavender blooms.

Celosia is an annual that can be planted in spring or summer in cooler climates and any time of year in zones 9+.

Seeds can be collected and replanted the following spring by storing in an airtight container in a cool and dark location.

These make for an excellent dried flower.

Many people are unaware that both the leaves and flowers of this beautiful plant are edible and contain many antioxidants. They can be eaten in salads or cooked.
