Yolo Wonder is a sweet bell that turns from green to red and is known for its' unusually high yields.


Red peppers are very rich in Vitamin C, with 253% of the daily value in just one pepper! They are also loaded with beta carotene and contain Vitamins B6, K, A, E, Iron, Magnesium, Potassium and Folate.


Most people don’t know that the trick to big healthy peppers that you see in the store is calcium! Peppers require calcium to reach their maximum potential and to help them combat pests naturally.


Use your spent eggshells, bone meal or lime to add calcium to the soil in addition to vegetable fertilizer. I use organic chicken manure based fertilizer.


Do not plant peppers where you just previously planted tomatoes, eggplant or potatoes as this can make them more susceptible to disease.


The peppers will turn green first and then red. If you want both green and red peppers for a dish, you can pick them early(green) for a nice variety for the table.

Zones 4-8: Plant when all danger of frost has passed when daytime temps reach 70 degrees or start indoors with good strong lighting and transfer outdoors when temps have reached 70 degrees.


Zones 9+: Plant any time of year.
