For best results, plant when temperatures are around 65 degrees, If temperatures are not quite right, plant indoors in a very bright location or store in an airtight container in your refrigerator until they are ready to plant. Soaking overnight in a paper towel the night before planting is a good trick for faster germination.

Unlike Chinese or Japanese Wisteria, American Wisteria is non-invasive and does not take 10+ years to bloom.

Chinese and Japanese Wisteria grows at a rate that is very difficult to keep up with and it can destroy the structures it is growing on with its heavy weight and who wants to wait 10 years for something to bloom?

There are two varieties of American Wisteria, Blue Moon and Amethyst Falls. They are very similar except that Blue Moon is more of a bluish purple and the flower stalks are much longer, with a look much closer to Chinese Wisteria. All the benefits without the wait.
