This is what you want for butterflies!!
This is the larval host plant for the wild indigo duskywing and Zarucco duskywing butterflies.
This is a very beneficial US Native Prairie wildflower and there is good news for the deep South on this one, this is a native in warm as well as cold climates. Although it is technically recommended for zones 5-9, some people have had success growing this in zone 10, therefore this is a better choice for zone 10, over the blue indigo.
Seed can be sown in fall for a spring emergence or cold stratified for just one week and sown in spring. Fall is a good time to plant these for warmer climates too as they will emerge immediately.
Grow 2-4 foot high with dozens of gorgeous white blooms. It is also nitrogen fixing as it is the family fabaceae (legume or pea) which returns nitrogen to the soil that is absorbed from the air, rather than depleting it. It enriches the soil.
White wild indigo can live for decades, returning every year with more and more plants, without being invasive.
Perennial Zones 5-9
This is for 50 seeds
