A rainbow of organic quinoa seeds in shades of hot pink, red, orange, green, yellow and white. These are selected for the brightest colored blooms. This mix also contains white, red and brown seeds for a nice variety for cooking.

Quinoa is a great one of the highest and best sources of protein of any grain. It’s also gluten free. It can be used in many dishes or eaten by itself. I like it by itself with a little salt, in stuffed peppers or mixed with rice or in place of rice.

Quinoa is related to amaranth and celosia, which explains the brilliant colors. They are so vibrant they almost appear artificial.

This is an impressive grain to grow, reaching heights of 4-8 feet!

These seeds have been cold stratified so you can skip that part. Plant preferably when temperatures are between 65-75 degrees. They can still do well in warmer temperatures but prefer cool nights and will produce better under these conditions. Extremely warm climates should plant these in fall or early spring. THESE WILL NOT GERMINATE IN VERY HOT TEMPERATURES. After sprouting, they can handle some heat, just not extreme temps for germination.

The seeds are ready for harvest when all the leaves fall off and only the colorful dried seed heads remain. Leaves can be added to salads in the mean time and are very nutritious.
