A California native, Bird’s eyes also knows as Tri-color Gilia is in the Phlox family.
This plant is not only gorgeous with its light blue to lavender flowers, blue stamen and yellow throat with a purple ring, it also smells like chocolate!
This plant is a heavy producer and will produce hundreds of flowers on a single plant. This flower is very attractive to bees which will pollinate everything in your garden when they are drawn to the enticing scent!
The leaves are fern-like and bushy with stems that stay upright.
Grows to 2 feet tall and 18 inches wide
Annual that readily self seeds the following season or year round in warmer climates.
Plant when temperatures are preferably around 70 degrees. The best time for planting in cooler climates is spring and summer, fall and winter for zoned 9+
