Another vegetable almost too pretty to eat. Almost. This vegetable is not only extremely healthy but it makes art work out of cuisine. Red on the outside with concentric circles of red to hot pink and white, it looks like a a peppermint candy. Also referred to as Candy Cane and Bullseye beet. 
 
Plant when temperatures are between 50 and 85, a year late season planting that ready in less than 2 months! 
 
Plant in spring, summer or early fall in cooler climates and spring, fall or winter in warmer climates.
