Your classic hollyhock in double purple!

These can be planted in either spring or fall. Fall planting gives you a better chance of getting blooms the first year. Spring planting provides flowers the second year.

Most little girls who grew up with these know about the hollyhock "doll making." It is one of the cutest things ever. You take a bud and peel the green off and stick that in the upside down portion of an opened bloom. (see photos) The double blooms on these will make for a pretty petticoat!

Please note that this is for double purple hollyhocks. Some of the photos of the dolls are of other colors.

Hollyhocks grow to an impressive 5-8 feet tall with multiple blooms on each stalk. Ideal germination temperatures should be between 60 and 70 degrees.

Perennial that will return for several years if you cut the stalks off at the base in fall, after flowering is finished.

Zones 3-8, although I have a customer growing it in zone 9A

I combine shipping on all seed orders, you pay one flat fee for as many seeds as you would like for no additional shipping. Orders over $35 for any combination of items in my shop ship for free!
