I first saw this beauty at Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, Fl. The yellow sulphur butterflies were all over it. It is in the legume family.

It’s an impressive “show piece” plant with spires of bright yellow, also know as Emperor’s Candlesticks. The blooms are 8-12 inches long!

In the US, the plant typically reaches heights of 6-12 feet and 6-10 feet wide.
