A fantastic addition to a tropical food forest, tamarillo or tomato tree is a tropical fruiting tree that reaches about 10 feet tall and produces egg shaped fruits that look similar to tomatoes in appearance and taste, except they are much sweeter and have notes of kiwi, passion fruit and guava. They are very often used as flavorings for ice cream and juice.
