A beautiful contrast to it’s red cousin, Great Blue Lobelia features flower spikes in beautiful blue.

Cardinal flowers are a crucial source of nectar for hummingbirds and butterflies.

They are a native wildflower and the flower spikes can reach up to 3 feet

The plant prefers moist soil and is best grown near a pond, bog or low lying area that tends to stay moist.

Seeds require 60 days or cold stratification. Seeds can be sown in fall or cold stratified in your refrigerator - fold the seeds into a moist paper towel and then a ziploc bag and placed in your refrigerator for 60 days, then sow as normal.
