The seeds require a cold period to break dormancy. Seeds can be sown in fall for a spring emergence or cold stratified in your refrigerator. To cold stratify, fold seeds into a moist paper towel, then a sealed Ziploc bag, and put in your refrigerator for six weeks, then sow as normal.
