One of the few native wildflower that is native to 45 US States!! Missing only from Hawaii, Alaska, Oregon, California and Nevada. Talk about a tough flower to adapt to such varying conditions!

This plant can grow 3-9 feet tall!

Another gem I saw at Bok Tower in Lake Wales, Fl, I had to grow it and it certainly did not disappoint in its ability to attract bumble and native bees in particular. So so important to attract native bees.

It is very tall for a rudbeckia and has yellow flowers that are also different in appearance to other rudbeckia. It almost had a wing-stem flower like appearance. It produces multiple flowers on several stalks. Very impressive and I couldn’t help but notice it from 20 feet away. And yes, I ran straight for it! 😂

These require either late fall/early winter(45 degrees or less) sowing for spring emergence or cold-moist stratification which involves simply folding them in a moist paper towel in a sealed ziploc bag and stored in your refrigerator for 60 days before planting.
