Trichocereus peruvianus is a tall, slender cactus with multiple columns that can reach heights of up to 20 feet

It has spines, often tan or brown in color, along the ribs of the cactus.

The flowers  are typically white and bloom at night, producing a sweet fragrance to attract nocturnal pollinators, such as bats (I love them!) The flowers are a glorious sight.

Like many other Trichocereus species, T. peruvianus has a history of traditional use among indigenous peoples in the Andes, often in shamanic and religious contexts.

The cactus contains various alkaloids, including mescaline, a naturally occurring psychedelic compound. This has led to its use in some modern alternative and shamanic practices.

Trichocereus peruvianus requires well-draining soil and plenty of sunlight. It is relatively hardy and can tolerate a range of conditions, but it prefers warm, arid environments.

Please note that the legal and ethical aspects of cultivating or using Trichocereus peruvianus or any other psychoactive plants can vary significantly depending on your location. Additionally, local laws and regulations might prohibit certain activities related to these plants. Always research and comply with the laws in your area before attempting to grow or use such plants.
