Papaver Somniferum var. Lacinatum, bread seed poppy. Some refer to this as a Peony poppy (somniferum-paeoniflorum) but I would classify it as a lacinatum with its fringed, feathery petals. 
 
Zones 3-7 Sow in spring when all danger of frost has passed. You can even sow in summer you just won’t get to enjoy them quite as long although they LOVE cool weather and will continue to flourish and bloom even in light frosts. 
 
Zones 8: Plant in spring or fall. 
 
Zones 9A: Plant between October and March. 
 
Zones 9B+: Yes, you can grow these! However, you must plant in November or December, January at the very latest. Any later and they will germinate but will not survive summer. You can enjoy these for just as long as cooler climates, just a completely different time of year!
Special zones where temps are just like listed, below year round such as parts of WA, OR and CA, you can grow these all year! 
 
Optimal germination is between 46 and 80 degrees. Optimal growing temperatures are between 50-77 degrees although they can handle cooler than this, they will just grow slower. You can check your highs and lows by month to determine the best time to plant for your climate.
 
If you want the seeds while you can get them but it’s not your time to plant, the seeds can easily be kept in an airtight container(The packet I send them in is fine and is a food grade plastic) and then a paper bag to block light and placed in your refrigerator. They can last for several years this way if properly stored. Seeds will remain dormant until you are ready to plant.
