A non commercial crop, these are wild jungle peanuts from the Amazon, a sustainable rain forest product. They are non-hybridized and contain antioxidants that regular peanuts do not have, such as resveratrol, an anti-aging antioxidant also found in the skin of grapes.


When fresh, these are a beautiful purple and purple and white striped peanut with up to four seeds per pod. As they dry, the white portion of the striped peanuts turn yellowish and make them look like they have tiger stripes! They have a very similar taste to regular peanuts but with a richer, earthy and aromatic quaility. 


What’s more, jungle peanuts do not contain alfatoxins, the mold that can develop in standard peanuts that some people are sensitive to. 


Grow your own peanuts! Peanuts are extremely easy to grow and one seed will produce one plant that will produce 25-50 peanut pods containing up to 4 seeds each. Not only are they are a fun food to grow but they also make for a beautiful ground cover with dozens of yellow blossoms. Kids love these! 


Germination temperatures: 65-85 degrees (the warmer the better) making them a great summer crop. Harvest in 140 days. Keep well watered!
