Erigeron Speciosus, known by the common names of Aspen Fleabane, Aspen Daisy, Dainty Daisy, Showy Fleabane, Garden Fleabane and Blue Daisy is a beautiful cross between a lavender and blue with delicate and dainty needle-like petals and cheery yellow contrasting centers. The flowers are extremely attractive to native pollinators. It is native to almost every Western US state, with the exception of California and North Dakota. Specifically, it is native to:
Arizona
Colorado
Idaho
Montana
New Mexico
Nevada
Oregon
South Dakota
Utah
Washington
Wyoming
It is found in meadows and open forests at elevations of 5,000 to 12,000 feet
Grows 1-3 feet tall and 1-2 feet wide
Perennial zones 4-8
Like most cooler climate perennials, it requires a period of cold to break dormancy. This can be achieved by sowing the seeds outdoors in fall/winter or simulating these conditions in your refrigerator by folding the seeds into a moist paper towel and sealing it in a ziploc bag and placing it in your refrigerator for 60 days, then sow as normal. Just barely cover the seeds, as they need light to germinate. Temperatures should be around 70 degrees after the cold period.
This is for approx 100 seeds (measured by volume)
