This is for 50 ripe Organic Asparagus seeds, picked right off the plant at time of order. I have had 100% germination with these seeds.
Asparagus is a perennial and will provide you with fresh spears from year to year versus an annual that needs to be replanted each season. I only have a few and they are only available when my plants are seeding.
Allow the plant to develop a strong root system for the first year or two for heavier production later. New spears develop into beautiful fern like foliage if left uncut and will produce beautiful red berries that you can replant if you desire, for more plants or to share with family and friends.
I suggest creating a permanent section in your garden and plant a couple of feet apart as they produce all throughout the year in warmer climates and anytime the temperature is above 50 degrees in cooler climates. This way you can gather spears from each plant for a good harvest.
The official listed hardiness zones are 3-8, however, I am growing these in zone 10 and they are huge with very heavy production.
Extremely hardy and will grow just about anywhere.
