An atypical color for a watermelon, tendersweet is particularly large so even if you haven't had the best of luck growing watermelon, you're still likely to get a hefty one at 15 to 30 lbs! Tendersweet is named for its particularly high sugar content. Very sweet and refreshing on a hot day.
Watermelon is best grown in the summer when daytime temperatures are between 70 and 90 degrees. The warmer the temps, the faster they will sprout (as soon as 4 days.) They will also grow faster in the heat. Harvest in only 90 days. That's pretty quick for a melon this big!
