Its distinctive nodding blooms, typically a pure blue or blue-violet, dance gently above finely divided foliage on slender 12–18 inch stems, making it a dreamy addition to cottage gardens, shady borders, or alpine-inspired beds.
This species is treasured not only for its rare color purity but for its exceptional cold tolerance, reliably perennial in Zones 3–7. With enough winter chill and moisture, it thrives in dappled sunlight or partial shade.
