A classic garden must have, Black Eyed Susan’s are actually in the Sunflower family! A North American native, and the state flower of Maryland, this flower is yellow with a black center and looks like a cross between a daisy and a sunflower.
They have long been used as a medicinal herb by Native Americans. Not all parts of the plant are edible though.
Black Eyed Susan (in regards to Rudbeckia Hirta,) is a short live perennial; Meaning it will live for 2-5 years. However, because it very easily re-seeds, it is often referred to as a standard perennial as plants are slowly replaced by new plants. Zones 3-11
This is for approx 2000 (measured by weight) seeds
Grows to 1-2 feet tall. Looks amazing planted in bunches for a wildflower meadow feel.
Plant in spring or summer in cooler climates.
Fall or winter in particularly warm climates.
