Black Kabouli Garbanzo Beans aka Chick Peas. These are an amazing black version containing various unique antioxidants not found in the standard chick pea. This makes for an extremely cool hummus!
The plant is so interesting, with purple and pink blossoms followed by green pods containing 1, but typically 2 beans for this variety.
The beans can be eaten fresh, steamed like an edamame or allowed to dry on the plant. For dried black beans, pick the beans after the plant dies back and the beans are allowed to fully mature and dry on the plant.
Bush habit that grows to 18 inches tall
Ideal temperatures for planting are between 60-80 degrees. Sprouts quickly. Soak seeds the night before planting to speed germination.
