WEDDING CANDLES MULLEIN
Verbascum chaixii
Verbascum chaixii, commonly called nettle-leaved mullein, is a clump-forming perennial native to central and southern Europe. It produces tall, branching candelabra-like stems densely set with small white or pale yellow flowers, each marked at the center with a tuft of violet-purple stamens — a detail that rewards close attention. The basal foliage is dark green and broadly ovate, remaining attractive through the season. Well suited to dry borders, gravel gardens, or naturalistic plantings, it tolerates poor soil with ease and draws bees and other pollinators reliably through its long summer bloom.
